[LM_NET] TAR: picture books with flashbacks

Hello all,

I have a teacher who wants some picture books with flashbacks in them. 
She says she has a worksheet she used last year with picture books (but
she can't remember the titles).  The characters in one book are Eddie and
Alexander and the other book is about Chrissy and Jennie and a wagon train
going to California.  Do either of these books ring a bell for anyone? 
Or, if you have a suggestion for any other books that use flashbacks, I'd
be interested in hearing them!  I already have _Miss Rumphius_ by Cooney.
