[LM_NET] Golden Age Picture Books

Hi All,
 
A tricky question for you: I am looking for a HISTORICAL FICTION
PICTURE BOOK about any of the following:
 
* Gupta Dynasty
* Tang Dynasty
* Song Dynasty
* Animism
* Shinto
 
We'd like something that is historical fiction in nature. A social
studies teacher would like to use it for her 9th Grade Global Studies
class. It needs to be something that can be read aloud in 40 minutes or
less. Ideally, the picture book would detail some aspects of the
civilization's "Golden Age" — we're looking for historical fiction —
more than folk tales or biographies. 
 
Thoughts? I'm stumped.
