Hi, Middle School librarians, My school feels that we are experiencing a decrease in 8th grade reading due to our inability to carry popular YA titles because of mature content. We are thinking about creating a special section or "green dot" indication which will require parental permission. If you are doing this, what has been your experience? Any tips/advice/cautions? (Can of worms to go fishing?) :) Also, do you allow 6th, 7th, and 8th to checkout if they have permission - or do you limit it to 7th-8th or just 8th? I will be happy to post a hit if I receive responses. Thanks!
