We have a situation in our district where a principal is trying to eliminate all management time from an elementary librarian and schedule classes for her all day every day. She won't have time to order, review, process, shelve, or anything other than deal with her classes. And when is she supposed to plan for those classes? Does anyone know where I can find a written statement that shows the recommended amount of management time that an elementary librarian should have. I'm thinking I heard once that the recommendation is 60/40 (classes/ management time) which is generous in my opinion. I would also like to know how much time you have for management. Any information I can get will be helpful. Thank you!
