I am posting this on behalf of the university with permission from Lyn Hay Lecturer
in Teacher Librarianship, CSU, http://www.csu.edu.au/sis/

Please see announcement below - one of these 3 positions is targeting a lecturer in
teacher librarianship.
Please apply before 1 August if you are interested joining the team at CSU.

CSU now employs academic staff as either:

(a) research/teaching position which requires a PhD (or at least enrolled in a
doctoral program), or

(b) a teaching/professional position (at Associate Lecturer/Lecturer levels) which
does not require a PhD.

So for those people who do not have a PhD, there is still an opportunity to work at
CSU as a lecturer under the (b) staffing profile.

Following a very successful round of recruitment last year, the School of
Information Studies at Charles Sturt University (CSU) is advertising for three more
academic staff, levels A-C, as it continues to grow.
As part of CSU's Faculty of Education, the School of Information Studies is
Australia's largest provider of online education for the library and information
professions. With over 1,700 students, the School has recently implemented a
comprehensive program of curriculum renewal, and is experiencing burgeoning
enrolments. The School offers highly regarded, industry focused postgraduate and
undergraduate courses in library and information studies, with a wide range of
specialisations, a stand-alone Masters course in teacher librarianship, and a
successful PhD program.
Successful applicants will be expected to teach in at least one, and preferably
two, of the following areas of information studies: teacher librarianship;
children's librarianship and literature; management of information agencies;
knowledge management; business information; information architecture and web
management.
Applications from established academics with a strong research record, and also
from early career academics with a recent background in industry, including the
corporate sector, are particularly welcome.
Successful candidates would normally be required to work on the CSU campus at Wagga
Wagga, NSW, Australia, although in some instances an arrangement in which they are
based off campus in another location within Australia may be negotiable. For more
details, please visit http://www.csu.edu.au/jobs/vacancies/acad-vacancies.htm and
scroll down to the vacancy with reference number 93782. A cover advertisement is
also attached to this posting. Applications close on 1 August 2010.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for further information.
