My 87 year old father (who thinks his librarian daughter knows all) would like to know about ISBNs. He wrote an autobiography that is published by an on-line publisher Authorhouse. The title is Saga: An Autobiography of Hubert Ward Chief Petty Officer U.S. Navy Retired. It has no ISBN. For many years my dad has been wondering about this. How and when would his book be given an ISBN, and of what value would that be to him or to the distribution of his book? An answer would make me look good. Thanks! Connie W.
