Hello All-- I got many more requests for a HIT than I did answers to my post. Possibly it is because of the varied definitions for a VFT. Here are the answers that I received: We use a Polycom Camera that connects to other Polycom cameras using IP addresses. Every district in our Northwest Michigan ISD has one. We use it primarily to reduce travel to the ISD for meetings. Our Library Media Aides have also met with 3 schools this year to share ideas. We have used it in a classroom setting to meet with subject experts, but didn't commit to any of those this year due to budget restraints. I'd like to use Skype, but our tech director says that our Firewall has conflicts with it. One of our teachers this year had students create vft using google earth. Some of them were pretty spectacular with live webcam, authentic music, etc. to their assigned destination. You can check out the field trips already set up in google earth to get an idea. I meant to create your own Googlemap and embed your own pictures. There is also Maplib.net; I've seen it done, but haven't had much time with so many web 2.0 tools. Here's some links that be helpful. 1) Maplib.net is a possibility, ex. http://www.maplib.net/map.php?id=9380 (look like user added own image, then tagged it, imagemap) 2) To embed images to a Googlemap, http://tinyurl.com/38xsjcz (google support) 3) To embed images in Googlearth and create tour http://earth.google.com/outreach/tutorials.html Thanks to those who replied!
