The problem with this young man's attitude is that unless it is turned
around before he starts teaching, he will infect a whole generation of kids
in his care because it is the teacher who has the greatest influence over a
student's use of the library.  That's why teachers have to be our primary
focus - much easier to empower 30 teachers who then reach 900-odd kids than
trying to do 1:900!

Personally, I think I would have pointed this person in the direction of the
nearest bookstore and let him part with his hard-earned on either a print
book or an e-book reader and the cost of the download - if it is available!
