Hi!
Thanks to all of the respondents!
There seems to be a market for a HS book fair of some kind. Any entrepreneurs out
there?

Here are the responses that I have gotten:

Scholastic piloted a high school fair this last spring. My school was one
of four in Oklahoma that were asked to try it. The selection of titles was
good and definitely more for older readers than those in the middle school
fair which we had been using. We did about $1300 in sales and had lots of
traffic. My teachers don't support it very well, although they said it was
a good idea when I asked them their opinions about having it. Our
Scholastic rep asked me in February about having it. It was pretty painless
and worthwhile for getting books in front of the kids whether they bought or
not.

I am doing a Scholastic Book Fair in December for my high school. I looked at their
set-up for
middle school, and it is all the latest and greatest stuff my high schoolers are
reading. I also asked them to include all their adult materials (Nicholas Sparks,
etc.) This is my FIRST high school book fair, and I think it will
either tank or go over really well. I am willing to try. I am doing two
late nights with food, door prizes, etc. I am asking the PTA and National Honor
Society to wrap the books if someone wants to give them as Christmas presents.
We'll see!

I also got an email from my Mackin Rep. They do a virtual fundraiser called Funds
4 Books. Their website is www.mackin.com.
I have a wonderful rep named PJ Crawford. I'm getting more info on their program
for next year. Her email is: paula.crawford@mackin.com

Thanks again!
Lisa
