Wow!  What a great response!  Thanks to everyone who replied!  
   
My original request was for novels for a 7th grader who is interested in Hispanic 
characters, especially those who cross the US border.  The overwhelming majority 
recommended La Linea by Jaramillo and Crossing the Wire by Hobbs.  The other 
recommended books are listed below.  
   
DISCLAIMER:  I included all titles that were sent to me, even those that are not 
novels and those that are not middle school age appropriate, because I figured 
someone else might be able to use them.  Please be sure you check this list before 
just handing it to a student!
