Choose Privacy Week (May 2-8, 2010) A new ALA initiative ( <http://connect.ala.org/node/97416> http://connect.ala.org/node/97416) is of interest to school libraries. Their "model" issue is privacy but the process can be used for discussion of ethical behavior, copyright, plagiarism, online safety... . Perhaps you might want to be trained locally to conduct discussions in your school with students or faculty? . Or join with your local public library to hold a discussion in the community? . Or might local school library groups hold trainings for other educators? <http://www.privacyrevolution.org/index.php/resources/for_libraries/> http://www.privacyrevolution.org/index.php/resources/for_libraries/ 1. Anyone (even if you're not a member of ALA) can join ALA Connect Libraries Foster Civic Engagement discussion group. 2. An Eluminate session on April 13th will help you learn to moderating a civic discussion --- anyone can attend: http://connect.ala.org/node/98293 best, Debbie dabilock@gmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
