[LM_NET] Somewhat OT: Importance of Librarians

I was rather dismayed by a conversation I had with my mother tonight.

I was lamenting the fact that my job has gone from LMS to computer ed teacher.  My 
mom's response was, 'who needs librarians anymore now
that there's the internet?'  She's in her 80's and doesn't get out as much as she 
used to, but she's an intelligent, generally well-informed person with an Ivy 
League education.  
If people like her don't recognize our worth then we're in big trouble.  I never 
thought I'd have to advocate within my own family!
