Thank you to everyone who responded to my request for research about the affect
reading a series has on reading comprehension. I received a few replies and
several who asked me to post a hit. Below is my original post and then the list of
those who have articles that pertain to the topic. Some interesting research that
gave me some ideas for writing my grant.
Again, thank you for those of you who took time to respond!!!

Hi Everyone!
I am looking for some research that shows how that reading fiction series
is advantageous to increasing pleasure reading for students. I have some
research about the decline in the time kids spend reading. But I'm really
looking for something on how kids who read series show an increase their
reading comprehension and develop the habit of reading for pleasure.
It's difficult because we all know this, but I need, for a grant I'm
writing, some conclusive evidence to prove it. I appreciate your time in =
pointing me to this information!!
