Good afternoon! For next school year, I am tossing around the idea of doing lessons that focus solely on research with my 8th graders to apply and build on what they have learned as 7th graders this year. I would like to do multiple projects throughout the year for different content areas and have a collaborative grade for each project. For example, first semester might be related to their civics class. They would get 3 grades (or a certain amount of points from each to add to a final grade); one would be based on content and come from the civics teacher, English teachers would grade for grammar, mechanics & writing style, and I would grade based on the process of finding the information and things like citations. If you teach a class on research or have some great lessons or tips that you would be willing to share, I would very much appreciate reading them! Thanks in advance!
