Good morning! A few weeks ago, I asked about sharing information if you were currently teaching or had taught a research class. I received a few responses and a couple of requests for hits. I have outlined what I would like to include as part of my class course of study, but have some more specific questions. They are listed below, I'm sure this is just the beginning as I develop my curriculum. Any and all responses would be greatly appreciated! I will compile the answers with what I received previously and post a HIT. Thanks in advance! Rebecca Miller Library Media Specialist Buford Middle School, Charlottesville, VA millerr2@ccs.k12.va.us 1. Do you use a specific model to teach research? I'm looking into using Independent Investigation Method (IIM) and Big 6. Pros and Cons? A different model? 2. How do you teach students to take notes? Create outlines? 3. Do your students write papers or create projects as their final product? Do you have teachers from different content areas grading the product? If so, how do you move the products from one teacher to the next? (I'm looking at 3 areas grading - myself, content area teacher (civics, math, science), and English teachers) 4. How often does your class meet? For how long? 5. Do you have a fabulous resource that is a must have for teaching students how to research? --- Scanned by M+ Guardian Messaging Firewall --- -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
