Good Afternoon!
My library has started an open library night once a month for families to
come in and check out books (a few of our public libraries have closed,
and many families don't have anywhere to go for books). We try to have a
little "something" going on as an "incentive" to get families to come. In
April our principal read a story, in May we had a local voice actor come
in and teach storytelling skills to parents; for our last one of the
school year in June, we're looking for something different. We don't want
anything too involved because we don't want it to turn into something
huge, just something else to have going on while families come in to check
out books (next year we're planning on having guest readers).
Any ideas? Does anyone else do something like this at their school? PS
We're a Pre-K to 2nd grade school.
Thanks!
Rachel
