It depends on chapter book or nonfiction a bit but here's what we do 1) definitely use the automated circ system's reserves. LOVE being able to tell the kids that the computer knows who gets it next!! (rather than them telling their friend they could have it next or seeming like I'm choosing who gets it) 2) put popular books on special reserve with only 2 day checkout 3) put in a bright orange paper bookmark when it goes to new user that says: "WOW! This book is popular!! Many students are waiting to read this book. Please return it (in two days/ASAP) so that others may have their turn." .-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+ Marcia Dressel, K-5 Librarian @ the Elementary and Intermediate Schools Osceola, WI dressel@osceola.k12.wi.us <mailto:dressel@osceola.k12.wi.us> http://www.myteacherpages.com/webpages/MDressel/ .-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+-.-+ -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
