Hi All!
Like many of you, I've moved. This year I've gone from middle school to elementary
to teach library skills, technology, and a section of 5th grade math. I'm excited
to be back down here, but it's been a while since I've really focused on children's
books.

Here's my issue: For the last few years, clerks have been running one of the
school libraries without the direction of a highly qualified media specialist. For
reasons that I don't want to get into, there are 9 Max Lucado books on the shelves
in the E section (that's picture books), and I know there are more books like them
on the shelves. (For those of you who don't know, Max Lucado is a Christian
author.) Without getting into a religious debate, can you give me as many reasons
as you can to effectively de-escalate the firestorm that I'll inevitably set off
when I have them moved to the Religion section?

We are a small with a HUGE Yemeni population, along with a few other populations
that do not share Christian beliefs. What are your professional thoughts on this
matter?

Much thanks,

Nicole Meintz Richards
