Alice posted a link for a Lane Smith interview. In the interview, when asked
about the last page, he states,"I think it’s a media-created thing. It’s
funny because teacher and librarians like it and there doesn’t seem to be a
problem when I do readings."  I'm afraid this librarian does have a little
problem with it and I am thinking of sending the book back.  I've had
students get all excited about the nickname for Richard, I'm not sure I want
to deal with the last page of "It's a Book."  I'm curious as to how others
feel.  If you'd like to count one way or the other email me and I'll post a
HIT tally.
