[LM_NET] TAR: If I Grow up by Todd Strasser

Good Evening All,

I have hooked a student with the book, "If I Grow up".    It is realistic 
fiction about a boy who grows up in the projects in NY.   He is trying not to 
get involved in the crime/drugs that he finds are involved it.   He is 
finally pushed into being in a gang.

I don't know if any of you have read it, but if you have, do you any 
suggestions on similiar books?    The book has to be middle school approriate, a 
tad mature but not overboard. This book has NEVER liked to read and I need 
the next book to keep him hooked.   Thanks!
