[LM_NET] Elem- Read Around the USA

I am planning a project for my k-5 classes in which we will read 1-2 books that 
highlight a particular state/ region of the USA. What book(s) best portray a 
particular state? I'd prefer picture books (fiction). For example: 
Louisiana -Lu and The Swamp Ghost (Carville)

I am looking for books that will introduce students to the flavor & beauty that 
make each state unique.  PLease send me your suggestions for each state. I will 
happiky post a hit when I get them completed.
