[LM_NET] SHARE: Achievers and Achievements

I ran across this site recently while searching for something else... but I
wanted to share the link with all of you for future use.  I know that
sometimes we're looking for information or websites about people who have
overcome adversities or have made significant impact in the lives of others
--- but searching for one site with several individuals can be difficult.

Achievement.org  [http://www.achievement.org]  is a great website filled
with individuals who have made significant achievements in government,
business, social work, and science.  There are short biographical entries of
these individuals, a gallery of podcasts, as well as video interviews of the
individuals (if available) about their lives and what they felt kept them
motivated and inspired to achieve success in their lives despite failure.

Even if your students do not do research about specific individuals and
their lives, this is a great resource to use for "motivational / character
education" programs in high schools!  After all, it's only Wednesday and I'm
already inspired to send this to you to share with others!  *grin*
