Parents want what home media?

I am writing a  media column for a local PARENT tabloid magazine.  We
will be reviewing media for the middle class parent who wants to select
the best books, software, audio & video cassettes.

1.  How do I obtain copies of the best titles of the above categories?
2.  What style of writing or format would you recommend if you were going
to read 500 words?  How many reviews of which of the above would you
recommend?
3.  What would be the most interesting aspect of this kind of review
column would encourage you to look forward to the next issue?
4.  Any other comments you have would be appreciated.
