Looking for help for a student

Hi all,

I need some help finding a "hook" for an at-risk lower level high school
freshman student. He is not the type that gets turned on by schoolwork, but
according to his English teacher, will spend hours drawing cartoons, especially
super heroes. He is evidently quite good, and these cartoons are his life.
Interesting thing happened today. He came into the Media Center today with his
class for an introductory lesson on telecommunications (DIALOG,Internet, e-mail)
and became so fascinated by the idea of e-mail that he came back to the Media
Center during lunch to send a message looking for a pen-pal.

When I found out about his love of cartooning, I though maybe I could find
either a listserv that focuses on cartooning or drawing, or maybe one of you
knows of a student with a similar interest of the same general age (14) who
would like to correspond with Aaron. Wouldn't it be nice if we could hook and
reel in this kid?
