Pat, I agree. We are paid to get books in the hands of students and teachers from day one. Yes, it may mean some inconvenience for us but we aren't the only ones coming in to school occassionally during the summer. There are lots of consciencious classroom teachers who work at their jobs unpaid in the summer as well. One classroom teacher pointed this out to his principal at my husband's school. This particular gentleman is retired military and keeps accurate records on everything. He spent 98 uncompensated hours setting up his classroom this summer. Education is a demanding field for all of us. Many of us, classroom or media personnel, put in extra unpaid hours so we can do what's right for kids.
