Greetings! As it gets closer to the end of the year, I'm noticing that a lot of students are really starting to get lazy when it comes to doing things on their own--especially the simple task of following directions. I get student after student come up and say "I don't get this..." or they ask me to explain again what I've just gone through several times. I really want them to start trying to figure out what to do on their own--when given an activity with directions on it--rather than think someone has to tell them. I have already done the directions lesson where you come up with a huge list of silly things to do with the first direction being to read through all the directions before beginning, and then at the end the last direction says to ignore the rest of the directions. does anyone else have any other good lessons on this? I will post a hit.
