Many of you may not have seen my January 2 request for your vote for the Caldecott medal, perhaps because you were set to vacation no-mail. If so, here's the request again: Looking back over 1998, what was your favorite 1998 children's book, as far as ILLUSTRATIONS are concerned? (The Caldecott is always given to a picture book. The illustrator must be an American.) I will compile a hit by January 18. If you list more than one title, please rank them.
