At our high school, almost all tvs were on all day. In the media center we had 4 sets running constantly, with groups in and out watching quietly for the most part. The administration even sent a memo to teachers advising them to either keep their television on or to frequently update the students.Office telephones rang off the hook and parents came in a fairly steady stream to pick up their children. After school activities and tonight's Open House were cancelled. Downtown businesses sent workers home early, all the area malls closed. I was one of the last to leave my school - about 4:30 - and was amazed at the super light traffic. Many churches held prayer vigil services this evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who've lost their lives or loved ones in this day of unimaginable tragedy. Thanks to those who've sent the book suggestions, research links, updates from NY and Washington areas and, especially, the caring messages from the worldwide LM_NET community.
