Dear Netters, My lower school director has suggested that we replace our (dreadful)fixed schedule of meeting 45 minutes per week with the 5th and 6th graders. Currently I struggle to come up with lessons that will work with them. The music and art teachers do the same. We're thinking that we'll give them the choice of computer, art, music, or library and they'll meet with that one teacher once per week...maybe like clubs. In theory, I'd have the students who really wanted to be in library! Have any of you tried a similar approach? What kinds of activities did you include? Did students change subjects/clubs every nine weeks or stick with the same thing all year? I've got plenty of ideas of activities to do with them, but I'd love to hear from someone else who has already traveled this road! Thanks.
