My wife and her family (New Jersey) always say, "...wait on line." There is no shifting them, even though I point out that you are NOT sitting or standing on top of people underneath you....you are waiting with them IN the line.....you are physically IN the line, not on toip of it! We agree to disagree, but I still think it is doubleplus ungood! <G> Oh the other hand, I (Illinois) mispronounce roof and wash as 'ruff' and 'warsh', so I guess we're even!
