Having fun reading all of your contributions and can't resist adding a
couple of mine before the "deadline:"

I hate when folks say "nucular" for nuclear.
My principal always leads tours of "perspective" parents (private school).
She wrote me a letter of recommendation, stating that I perform well in my
"duel" role.
A second grade teacher at my school, citing examples of homonyms
(homophones?) offered "pin" and "pen."
There is a store near my house that sells "Ladie's Clothing."

And I know this isn't exactly on the subject, but last year, a family
friend's little boy expressed his excitement over the coming Labor Day
holiday. His older sister said, "You don't even know what Labor Day is," and
he replied, "I do so! It's Laborham Lincoln's birthday!"

But I have to confess (shudder) that the term "fixing to" (as in, "We're
fixing to go to Home Depot for some caulk.") comes flying out of my mouth
upon occasion. Some things just creep their way into your subconscious, I
guess.
