Your post is very misleading! You make it sound as though PA librarians do not have to having a teaching certificate at all. I have a teaching certificate and my area is library science, K-12. What PA librarians do not have to have is a second certificate for a degree outside of library education! I took all the courses as an undergraduate that graduate students could take at the time I gained my degree. Years ago, I admit, but I am very qualified! And, I work hard to keep it that way. I am now jumping off my highhorse. Thank you. --- Mary Jo Langhorne <MLanghorne@CORNELLCOLLEGE.EDU> wrote: > According to responses to my posting of a week ago, > the following states > do not require school librarians to hold teacher > certification: > > > > Alaska > > District of Columbia > > New York > > New Hampshire > > Pennsylvania > > Rhode Island > > Texas > > Vermont > > > > If you have information about other states, or think > this information > may be in error, please let me know. > > > > > > Mary Jo Langhorne > > Adjunct Assistant Professor > > School of Library and Information Science > > Univeristy of Iowa > > > > > -------------------------------------------------------------------- > All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law. > To change your LM_NET status, e-mail to: > listserv@listserv.syr.edu > In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) > SET LM_NET NOMAIL > 3) SET LM_NET MAIL 4) SET LM_NET DIGEST * Allow > for confirmation. > LM_NET Help & Information: > http://www.eduref.org/lm_net/ > Archive: http://www.eduref.org/lm_net/archive/ > EL-Announce with LM_NET Select: > http://elann.biglist.com/sub/ > LM_NET Supporters: > http://www.eduref.org/lm_net/ven.html > -------------------------------------------------------------------- > Barbara Fritz, Elementary Librarian (K-5)Bloomsburg Area School District, Bloomsburg PAfritzlibrary@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
