Cyber friends: I've been following the "bubbly" thread with interest - it began with the interview process and now seems to have evolved into the "performance" of keeping students' interest during book talks, story times, etc. in the classroom. From some of the descriptions I'd say that a more apt term would be "ham" than "bubbly." "Hamming it up" is what I (and many of us) do when we read those barnyard stories, folklore, etc. with expression and sound effects, etc. that bring the story to life. That's quite a bit different than being bubbly in an interview, although it follows that a bubbly person might also be a "natural" at hamming it up. But as one person mentioned, even a trembling, introverted person can overcome their "stage fright" (taking classes, practicing) and do a good, perhaps even great job when it comes to book talks, etc. What I think the interviewers were looking for when they used the term "bubbly" was a person with a "spark" who would be a positive asset to the STAFF apart from the library. I mean in group tasks and responsibilities and even just socially on campus. I've run into too many people with recollections of "dour" or inflexible librarians - who were equally dour or inflexible when it came to non-library situations (committees, etc. - even coffee breaks) on campus. If, during an interview, you don't come across as a friendly person, one who wants to become part of the campus as well as the librarian, they may surmise (perhaps incorrectly) that you will not be an asset other than in the library. Principals are looking for "Team Players" with a wide range of experience, interest, and talent they can potentially draw on. What will you bring to campus besides an excellent library program? Some campuses are far more "family" than merely a good staff. Personality on campus as well as in the library is particularly important in those places. Could this be what the interviewer is looking for? Joanne Ladewig, Library Media Technician (a.k.a.
