Dear LM_NET Colleagues, On Wed, 29 Mar 2006, Alice Yucht wrote: > <snip> > Librarians who choose to WRITE/CREATE blogs do so because -- unlike a > static webpage -- you can quickly and easily update the info on your > blog without having to know any HTML language and/or waiting for the > tech person to do it for you. > Using a blog as your library's virtual face means that you can easily > post news about new resources, events, trivia, etc. -- IOW, info that > could make your users more interested in what you have to offer. <snip> While I think that the blog has great potential as a component of the library's public face and as a Web research starting point, I find that I can easily do all of the things that Alice notes that you can do with a blog. I can do so quickly and easily and with no support needed from a tech person, and I do not need to know how to use HTML language. I use Netscape Composer to create all my pages, including the CHS LIbrary page: http://melvil.chicousd.org/ Don't give up on Web pages quite yet!
