In my original post, I asked if librarians purchased Follet Bound books or
Publisher's Hardcover for their libraries. I observed that the trade books are
more attractive, though their bindings do not hold up. On the other hand, the
Follett Bound books are not as attractive and, although their bindings are strong,
their spines and edges get banged up.

21 librarians generously gave their time to respond. Thanks to all!

3 said they never bought prebound books like Follett Bound because they didn't like
the look ("feels and looks cheap")

4 said they always purchased Follett Bound. A couple commented on the good
customer service, though one complained that you had to send back the damaged book
(that has not been my experience, nor the experience of the other respondents. One
librarian said her kids love the Follett Bound books.

5 said they prefereed Permabound over Follet Bound, stating that they have "better
quality paper" and "seem to last longer" than Follett.

3 said they always ordered Bound to Stay Bound because they had tougher bindings
and spines, though they were more expensive than Follett.

2 recomended Mackin.

1 librarian prefers Tandem Books (formerly Sagebrush/Econoclad) because they have a
"no questions asked" policy when you need something replaced.
