After just a few booktalks, Hunger Games is checking out like mad at my
junior high.  Now I'm looking for some readilkes.  Any suggestions?  I'm in
a 6-8 school.

Sequel:  Catching Fire

Gregor the Overlander, also by Collins has a similar fantasy setting but
it's not as "cut-throat"

Knife of Never Letting Go, Rash by Hautman and Graceling.  However, when I
read Hunger Games...the book that I thought of while I was reading it the
most was Stephen King The Running Man

*Uglies* trilogy by Scott Westerfeld

Unwind by Shusterman - Three teens embark upon a cross-country journey in
order to escape from a society that salvages body parts from children ages
thirteen to eighteen.
