Folks-- Thanks to Steven Hodas and Mike Eisenberg, we will have 9 copies of the NASA "Global Quest" video to send out via snailmail for review. (Thanks to Paula Neale who also offered two copies.) So, we can take lots more volunteers to view the video and write opinions. Send me your name and address as soon as possible. I heard another opinion of the video at a conference today. A workshop presenter called it basically typical "hype" for Internet that just made it all look too simple, the way kids were easily calling things up. In his presentation, he emphasized the need for constant Training Training Training, as well as the need to teach students how to examine and validate data found on the Internet (as well as how to use it.) (I won't give the man's name because this is a terrible paraphrase.) Has anyone seen the new MIT video for schools and Internet? %^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^% Katie Filipowicz, Library Media Specialist Lincoln High School, 375 Kneeland Ave., Yonkers, NY 10704 Phone: (914) 376-8392 Internet: catherine.filipowicz@execnet.com
