TARGET - Book orders/fill rate

Dear Fellow Netters,

     I am interested in hearing from other LMS'S regarding the
fill rate on books ordered from companies like Baker & Taylor,
etc.  We have not had good luck with them on book orders, other
than the most current best sellers.  Often, we send them a list
of reference books (currently reviewed within 3 - 4 months in
Booklist, etc.) and they fill approximately 58 o 60 percent
only, and then place everything else on backorder.
     We cannot encumber our money for the length of time they
take to backorder, or we'll lose it (our system has a cutoff
date, when orders can be processed of April 15, and monies not
spent by then are lost to us -- they revert back to the city
and someone else gets it).
     If you would, please answer the following questions:

        1.  What companies do you like dealing with best?

        2.  What is your fill rate with Baker & Taylor -- in
other words, do they do better by you, and why?
