Civil War unit assistance needed

8th grade American history students at my school will soon be starting their
unit on the Civil War.  A teacher thinks that she remembers seeing a computer
program which allows students to plan battle strategies, etc.  I've
looked through several catalogs but haven't been able to find information
on a resource for the Civil War.  I would appreciate hearing from anyone
who has information about this product.

Also, I would be interested in learning about any Civil War activities or
projects that have been successfully completed in your library media
center.  (We have done one in the past in which students work in small
groups to complete a newspaper front-page on an assigned Civil War
related topic; however, we are looking for some "fresh" ideas.)
