On Dec 27 Marjorie Pappas expressed a hope that the AASL Vision Committee for the guidelines Revision "Information Power" were monitoring this discussion on the librarian job description.. "I hear some of you raising the issue of technology teams . . . teams of people . . . computer teacher, technicians, clerks, technology coordinators, and information specialists (librarians). I do not think we can do it all any more and yet I see too many situations where there are power struggles going on among those folks mentioned above. I think we stand to lose unless we can build partnerships." I have been raising the fire on partnerships, collaboration, expanding the team approach for several conferences (ALA and AECT) in the hope that the AASL AND AECT leadership would look out to those other Team Associations. By focusing on only the curriculum reform groups, or the software curriculum associations and ignoring the bridges we have professionally constructed over the decades, we are doomed to failure in Information Power revision. Mike Eisenberg has a vision in his message which we all need to send to our non LM_NET readers. Use the Listservs, fax or snail mail and write to the state representatives of our national affiliates before their upcoming annual conferences. There are Affiliate Assembly "grass roots" members who prepare resolutions at these conferences. The resolutions are sent to the national association boards for their action.
