here we are asking what's in a name again. If the new "Information
Technologist" has as the basis of the job requirements a Masters Degree
in Library Science, then that speaks more than all our posturing!
Whether we are called Librarians, Media Specialists or Information
Technologists, it's still who is behind the job, what the Library schools
begind the degree are doing, and how the school perceives your job
descriiption. My question is- will the school now hire 1 1/2 or 2 people
to do this extended job, or create a new technology position, and see the
"Librarian" position as a "lesser" need?
