I received interesting suggestions for my query about novels set in the 60's and 70's. Originally, I had planned to read the books, so I would know what I had included in my bibliography. But.. there were many titles I was not familiar with and others I had read 25 years ago, so I think I will pose the list in a way that students find the books, read them, evaluate if they realistically portray the times as we reflect on the period historically and suggest if the book should be part of the library collection. [There is a great list of fiction and nonfiction books on the 60s in Booklist, September 1, 1987, pages 55 to 57.] Sarah Peckham, Marian High School, Omaha NE Speckham@Unomaha.edu Airman Mortensen by Michael Blake And One For All by Theresa Nelson Baby of the Family by Tina McElroy Ansa Back To The Land by Raymond Mungo Been Down So Long it Feels Like Up by Richard Farina Best of Friends by Margaret Rostowski Blessings by Belva Plain Boy's Life by Robert R.
