COLLEAGUES, I am getting ready to finish up my budget and am wanting to buy some software (mostly cd's) for our stand-alone MAC's. After reading reviews and setting up a wishlist, I am now cuddling up with an Educational Resources catalog. I am struck by the difference in many cases between the Home and School prices. The school version seems to run anywhere from $5 to $25 dollars higher for many programs. The catalog doesn't do a good job of explaining what I am getting for the extra bucks. Especially if it's a CD, I presume I would not be getting a backup as part of the school price. Some of the titles I wonder about are TREASURE MATH STORM ($25 DIFF) BUSYTOWN ($17 diff.) THINKIN THINGS AND THE 3D ATLAS. Does anyone have experience with the different versions. I keep thinking of all that MECC apple documentation which mostly went unread but ocasionally was almost a necessity for using the programs. And finally if anyone knows of a new program for the MAC which they would consider an absolute first choice, please send the title along? I'll post a summary if there is interest. My school grade levels are k-5/ Paula Neale mohmie@coop.crn.org
