Thanks to all of you who responded to my request for suggestions for
elementary keyboarding programs. Since I do not know how to get parts of
many letters into one letter, I will summarize the results. As always,
help is wonderfully close at hand with this group!
Mario Teaches Typing - four people suggested this and said it was
easy to use, and kids like the tie-in to Nintendo.
All the Right Type - three people suggested this program by Didatech.
They said it was good for students as low as second grade. Also,
if a site license is purchased, students can purchase a home copy for
$15(Canadian) for their personal use. A nice touch.
Type to Lean (Sunburst) - Three people highly recommended this program
Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing - although several people said they had this
program, each had a disclaimer such as too much on-screen reading,
a tracking program which means students must sit at the same place
each time. This is probably good for middle school and up.
One person each suggested the following:
Microtype, the Wonderful World of Paws
Herzog Method - Claire Simpson highly recommended this as an effective
typing tool, but said that heavy teacher involvement is needed
         at the beginning.
        TYPE! (Broderbound)

Thanks again to all who make this a great place to be. Happy New Year.
