Dear LM_NETTERS,

As a former Preservation Librarian, I urge you to work on a preservation
policy *before* you need it. Like a policy on censorship, you hope you
will never need it, but if you do, it will be invaluable. Preservation
policies aren't just for rare book collections, every librarian needs to
know what to do in case of a water leak, insects, fires, etc. There are
many great articles and sample preservation policies available, so you
won't have to reinvent the wheel.
