Apple communication program

The county deaf teacher at my school will have Mac's in her room next
year, but in the meantime is making do with Apple GS's.  She would like
to hook up one of these to a modem and the 'Net, and has asked me to post
a message asking for suitable communications programs.  No bells and
whistles, just basic comm. functions but it must run on an Apple II GS.
Doe anyone have any ideas?  Replies to either the net or to me at
