Hi, I'm Dianna Evans, a graduate student at Indiana University
Bloomington. This is my first attempt at asking for information
through the Internet. I am currently working on a group project
in
our reference class. We are attempting to describe the current
nature of reference services in K-12 school libraries. It would
be
greatly appreciated if anyone interested would respond to the
following questions and address that response directly to me.
Thanks in advance. Dianna Evans (dkevans@indiana.edu)

1. How would you define reference services in your school
library?
Are there any people or theories that have played a role in
developing your definition of reference services?

2. What portion of your time is devoted to providing reference
   services?

3. Are there other staff members that provide reference services?
Do you have a designated reference librarian?

4. Which print tools do you find most helpful in providing
   services? Automated tools?

5. How do you see your Internet connection changing the scope of
reference services in the school library?

6. What types of cooperation exist between your school library and
the public library in the area of reference services?

7. If you didn't have any limitations is there anything you would
like to change or add to the reference services in your library?

8. What is your policy concerning sensitive reference questions
   (i.e. controversial subjects)?

9. At which grade level does your school system begin to teach
students how to use reference sources? Do you have a designated
staff member that handles this instruction?

Thank you for your time,
D.E.
