Newly hired LMS would like advice

Hi,
I just got hired by Germantown school district to be a library media specialist
at an elementary library media center for 80% of the time and the district
library media coordinator 20% of the time.  Since I'm fresh out of school this
May I would like any advice for starting my first library media center and how I
should tackle this district library media director position.  Of course I have
some ideas of my own, but I'd really value input.
