Arguements for Internet in schools

Greetings,

I'm a grad student at Indiana University, Bloomington and would like to
know some arguements school media specialists used to persuade
decision makers (whomever that might be) that the Internet would be a
valuable resource for a school to have.  The information is for a paper
I'm writing for an information networking course.
