TARGET>Explorers, Inventors fiction books

Hello LM_NETers,

I'm turning to you all for ideas.  We have turned up little using the
resources available to us, but need suggestions ASAP!

Our Grade 4 classes are launching an extensive thematic unit on
exploration, discovery, and invention.  While we have many books and other
resources in the non-fiction and biography areas of our elementary
libraries, our need is for FICTION books which can be read to entire
classes or be used as whole language shared reading resources.
Our Academically Talented cluster groups are planning this thematic unit,
but the materials will also be used in heterogeneous homerooms.

Please send me any suggestions you may have for FICTION books preferably
at Grade 4,5,6 reading levels.  I will post a hit with any respnses I
recieve.
